Village of Bedford Park (VBP) is soliciting expressions of interest from organizations who may be interested in partnering on the proposed Multipurpose Sports and Event Center near the Midway Hotel Center (MHC) in Bedford Park, Illinois. The MHC consists of ten (10) branded hotels with more than 1,600 rooms, as well as several restaurants. The intent of the proposed facility is to support local use and generate sports tournament activity, along with other related event uses. Hunden Strategic Partners (HSP) is advising VBP and co-managing the process with VBP.
Village of Bedford Park is interested in learning what experienced organizations can do/offer/provide related to the proposed facility in the following categories:
- Management Operations
- Food & Beverage/Concessions
- Advertising/Sponsorship/Naming Rights
- Anchor Tenant
- Medical/Rehab/Physical Therapy Tenant/Partner
- Major Event/Tournament User
This RFI is not directed to any design, construction or related contractor or subcontractor. Submittals from such firms or teams will not be accepted.
In 2016, VBP engaged Hunden Strategic Partners to complete a market analysis, financial feasibility and impact study regarding the proposed event facility, as well as other related developments. While the currently proposed facility differs somewhat from the facilities in the study, the HSP study did establish a strong market and significant unmet demand for indoor youth/adult tournaments and sports events, including for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, wrestling, dance, and cheer.
After receiving the study and assessing financing and site options, the Village has determined it has a site and is in the process of securing funding for the Project. It now seeks to understand entities that may be interested in playing a formal or other role in the ongoing operations of the facility. These roles may include as operator, anchor tenant, episodic user, weekday consistent user, naming rights sponsor or others.
