SONOMA (June 13, 2018) – IMH Financial announces the appointment of Rubén Cambero as general manager to lead MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa. Cambero will draw upon his nearly two decades of hospitality experience honed at his family’s revered Hotel El Peregrino in Spain and his tenure with Relais & Châteaux to transform the historic property, with a promise to bring authenticity, exclusivity and individuality into every guest interaction.

“Sonoma County feels like a homecoming,” said Sedano, who grew up playing in the vineyards of Spain. “Like any culinary and wine destination, there has to be evolution but one that embraces the heritage throughout. That’s the essence of MacArthur Place.”
Cambero grew up on the Mediterranean Coast in a family of hoteliers, including his mother, a Michelin star chef. He helped transform the family’s Hotel El Peregrino from a faded hostel into a prestigious Relais & Châteaux property and was integral to the brand’s international development in Spain and Portugal.
He and his family recently relocated from Texas, where he was previously the general manager at the Inn at Dos Brisas, a Relais & Châteaux hotel featuring the state’s only Forbes Five-Star restaurant. Since arriving to MacArthur Places he’s become an avid student of Sonoma’s artisan culture, feeding his soul and body while exploring the regional tastemakers.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Universidad Europea de Madrid, and also studied in Scandinavia under the Erasmus program at Uppsala University in Sweden. He completed his studies with a master’s certificate in hotel revenue management at Cornell University.
