Key Largo, FLA. (July 30, 2018) — Carved into Key Largo’s most lush and secluded region on the island, Baker’s Cay Resort is set to debut this fall as part of Curio Collection by Hilton, delivering a timeless resort with contemporary appeal and preeminent style.

Located on the Gulf side of the Overseas Highway, this beachfront resort is on 13 acres of tropical groves and provides exclusive access to one of the most secluded white-sand beaches in the area. Situated on a former pineapple plantation previously owned by the hotel’s namesake Captain Ben Baker, Baker’s Cay Resort pays homage to the historical notion that pineapples serve as a symbol of hospitality and elegance.

“From the moment guests’ step onto the property, they are surrounded by nature and the undiluted pleasures of the Florida Keys,” said Joy Boyd, general manager, Baker’s Cay Resort Key Largo.

As the first Curio Collection hotel in Key Largo, the 200-guest room resort will join a portfolio of 50+ one-of-a-kind properties handpicked for their unique character and embodies the spirit of the island through its design and curated amenities.

Under the leadership of Executive Chef Andy Papson, the Baker’s Cay Resort culinary team will leverage the abundance of local ingredients, to create several new dining and craft cocktail experiences.

A nod to its commitment to eco-consciousness and local sustainability, Baker’s Cay Resort is leading eco-waste efforts through various reduce, reuse and recycle initiatives. As of March 2018, the property was the first resort in the Florida Keys to commit to Reef Relief’s “Skip the Straw” campaign, eliminating the use of single plastic straws on-site. In addition, the resort will partner with The Everglades Foundation, Coral Reef Restoration Foundation and Tomorrow’s Reef for responsible community support and educational programming.
