GREENBELT, Md., September 24, 2018 – Chesapeake Hospitality, a dynamic third-party hotel management company, announced today it has been selected to manage the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport hotel located in Romulus, Michigan. Chesapeake Hospitality President Kim Sims made the announcement.
The announcement reflects the company’s focus on identifying full-service hotels in markets nationally and strategically growing its portfolio by delivering unmatched bottom line results and guest satisfaction for its clients.
With 354 rooms and 5 suites, the 11-floor Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport hotel features an indoor heated pool, hot tub, state-of-the-art Sheraton Fitness center and two on-site restaurants—Cultivate and Connections. Cultivate serves breakfast and dinner and features energizing breakfast options and American dinner favorites. Serving lunch and dinner, Connections offers tasty American favorites, a wide selection of fine wines, hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood entrees. The property also offers expansive meeting space, including 16 meeting rooms totaling 22,132 square feet, as well as complimentary on-site parking and 24-hour airport shuttle service.
“As our reputation for our expertise in managing large, complex full-service hotels has continued to grow nationally, this hotel is a perfect fit for our portfolio,” said Sims. “We began working in Detroit in 2016 when we assumed the management of the nearby Detroit Metro Marriott for the same ownership group. Our results with that property have been tremendous and we see opportunity for unique connection and growth with both hotels under our management. Our track record of growing along with our owners as their portfolio expands is the best example of our team’s approach, our results, and our shared core values with our owners.”
Located at 8000 Merriman Road just off I-94 minutes from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport hotel is conveniently located within 30 minutes of some of Metro Detroit’s most exciting attractions, including the Henry Ford Museum, Detroit Science Center, and the Ambassador Bridge to Canada.
