Seán Carney has been appointed managing director of Rosewood Miramar Beach, a luxury resort opening early 2019 in the idyllic Montecito community of Southern California. Designed with style, grace and glamour, Rosewood Miramar Beach will offer luxurious beachfront living in the most stunning of settings. In his role as managing director, Seán will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property, including the resort’s six dining venues and Sense, A Rosewood Spa®.
Seán joins Rosewood Miramar Beach with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, Seán served as managing director of Lough Eske Castle, A Solis Hotel in Donegal, Ireland. During his tenure at the five-star property, Seán significantly increased the hotel’s revenue, profitability and occupancy rate. Prior to that, he served as the interim managing director of the Capella Marigot Bay in Saint Lucia, where he oversaw all elements of the resort while it was undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation.
Previously, Seán held various food and beverage positions at hotels across the U.S. and the Caribbean, including Caneel Bay, a former Rosewood Resort, Ritz Carlton in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Atlanta, Georgia and the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii. A dual citizen of Ireland and the United States, Seán holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in international hospitality management from Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh, Scotland.
