Nov. 07–FLINT, Mich. — Downtown is looking a little different as crews started tearing down two vacant buildings Wednesday, Nov. 7, to make room for a redevelopment project anchored by a new Hilton Buckham Square Hotel.
Demolition of blighted buildings at 126 and 116 Kearsley St., will allow for creation of what developers have described as green space for food trucks to operate, immediately west of the hotel.
The $37.9 million Hilton project includes renovation of the 11-story former Genesee Bank building at 352 S. Saginaw St., into the new, 101-room hotel.
The new hotel will feature a banquet center and restaurant on the second floor and a rooftop deck, developers have said.
