Dec. 12--Somerset is one critical step closer to booking a reservation for its very own high-end hotel. The Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority announced Wednesday that it had approved key financial incentives for the aim of building a 105-room hotel adjacent to The Center for Rural Development. Dec. 12--The Hotel Lancaster became locally owned Thursday, when developer John Meeder and his team bought it for $5.75 million. "This is what we've been working for," Meeder said. With the acquisition, a second phase of renovations will proceed, bringing the remainder of the once-idle property back into service. Dec. 12--The Cal Neva Resort & Casino was originally supposed to reopen Friday, marking former owner Frank Sinatra's 99th birthday. Instead, the old Lake Tahoe landmark will reopen next year in time for Sinatra's 100th. Criswell Radovan LLC, a St. Helena investment firm that bought the Cal Neva in 2013, said Friday that the north shore resort will undergo a thorough renovation and reopen Dec. 12, 2015.
