May 12--The mystery company that bailed out The Nines hotel in downtown Portland with a buyout offer appears to be a Maryland hotel investment trust with a growing portfolio in the city. An affiliate of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust has applied to assume the liquor licenses at The Nines and its restaurants, Urban Farmer and Departure, suggesting the trust has taken ownership of the five-star hotel. Summit Hotel Properties Reports Q1 2014 Financials; Sees a 50% Jump in Revenue

May 12-- Austin-based Summit Hotel Properties saw revenue jump 50 percent in the first quarter, the company reported Monday. The real estate investment trust operates 90 hotels with more than 11,000 guest rooms across 22 states. Summit said revenue hit $89.5 million in the first three months of 2014, up from $59.7 million during the same period a year earlier. The company said last week it would pay a quarterly dividend of 11.25 cents per share on its common stock. May 10--The Dubai-based hospitality group has 40 properties in operation, including hotels, hotel apartments and resorts in the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and India. The Ramee Group of Hotels and Resorts is set to open two five star hotels in the UAE in the next three years with a total investment of more than Dh700 million, chairman and managing director Raj Shetty told in an interview during Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which concluded last Thursday.
