May 03--NATCHEZ -- The VUE Hotel and the nearly 21 acres of riverfront property below the hotel is now for sale. RJB Financing, which bought the hotel out of bankruptcy in 2012, is selling the property, said David Levy, vice president of NRC Realty and Capital Advisors in Chicago. NRC is facilitating the sale, and Levy said the hotel and the riverfront property could be bought separately. RJB purchased the property in 2012 for approximately $5.6 million, according to bankruptcy documents, and changed the hotel's name from the Grand Soleil to the VUE. May 02--Wisconsin vacationers and other Badger State travelers spent over $10.8 billion in 2013, a 4.5% increase from the previous year, according to a study released Friday by the state Department of Tourism. That comes after a similarly sized spending increase in 2012, and shows the continued strength of the state's tourism industry, Gov. Scott Walker said in a statement. April 30--BERKELEY -- People who rent out rooms in their homes here to travelers using websites such as Airbnb could be hit with the city's 12 percent hotel tax under a proposal passed by the City Council on Tuesday night. The move comes after Airbnb said it will begin charging users of the website hotel taxes in San Francisco and Portland, Ore., this summer. The Berkeley proposal was referred to the city manager who could come back to the Council with a law to vote on, but there is no deadline. The issue was brought to City Councilman Kriss Worthington by the 79 year-old owner of the Brown Shingle bed-and-breakfast, Helen Christensen.

April 30--A $20 million renovation project that includes a new lineup of restaurants and bars is underway at Green Valley Ranch resort in Henderson. Station Casinos, which operates the casino, announced today that the project would include the introduction of four new dining and drinking establishments. They are: --Mercadito Green Valley Ranch.
