Airbnb is Soaring in New York: Must Learn to Play by the Rules & Rules of the Road Must be Enforced
April 29, 2014
April 29--Airbnb is soaring in New York City. The global online-booking service says it helped 416,000 visitors find lodging in local homes in the last year -- creating $632 million in economic activity. The company makes it easy for New Yorkers to earn extra money sharing their digs with tourists. Airbnb also makes a pricey city more accessible to tourists. April 29, 2014
April 29--West Palm Beach City Commissioners late Monday said yes to the first of two votes on the planned 75-foot waterfront Marriott "boutique hotel" that would go in a crescent-shaped 1 1/2 -acre lot next to the Palm Harbor Marina and south of the Flagler Memorial ("North") Bridge. But commissioners warned developers they had a lot of questions before they'd consider a second and final vote, and developers shouldn't expect it for at least a month. The original plans, as approved in February by the city's planning board, call for a 108-room, 75-foot-high, 92,063-square-foot hotel with 2,650 square feet of meeting space and a 5,000-squ
