April 23--A 130-room Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel going up on Atascadero's north end is expected to be complete by December. Utilities and landscaping are complete on the four-story hotel, which is in the framing stage at San Ramon Road and El Camino Real near a Home Depot store. A pool, Jacuzzi and a bar will be featured in the new space, said to have a wine country-inspired theme. Two additional building pads also being built on the site will bring 18,000 square feet for restaurants, gas stations or retail stores through project developer Costa Mesa-based Westar Associates.
