March 21--The Montrose area's newest hotel, which is under construction, hopes to be open by late summer or early fall. The Marriott Residence Inn is being built at 4080 Embassy Parkway, near state Route 18 and Interstate 77. It is in the same area as the Crystal Clinic and Akron General Wellness Center. March 21--With hotel loans leading the way, the past-due rate on securitized commercial real estate loans fell to the lowest level since 2009. The 30-day delinquency rate on loans backing commercial mortgage-backed securities was 4.957 percent as of February. The last time that CMBS delinquency was less than 5 percent was in November 2009, when the rate was 4.71 percent. March 20--Operators of Sacramento-area hotels started out 2014 with year-over-year improvements in occupancy, average daily room rates and revenue per room, according to the San Francisco office of hotel industry tracker/consultant PKF Consulting USA. Turkey Creek Hospitality Plans to Develop 140-room Hilton Garden Inn in Memphis, Tennessee

March 19--Turkey Creek Hospitality this week completed its purchase of the former Greyhound bus station Downtown for its plans to build a 140-room Hilton Garden Inn there. The Knoxville-based company paid $1.67 million to Greyhound Lines for the 1.4-acre property. The development at 195 Union is to be a multifaceted structure serving both businesses and leisure travelers. The site is in the center of Downtown Memphis' sports and entertainment district, directly across from AutoZone Park.
