Feb. 28--SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN) -- Fourth-quarter earnings at Banyan Tree Holdings fell 27 per cent to S$3.66 million (US$2.9 million) as income from its Thai resorts was hit by the political crisis in the country. Revenue was just about flat at S$97.91 million, compared to S$97.46 million a year earlier. "Many countries have issued travel advisories to Thailand which impacted the tourist arrivals," the company said in its results announcement. Feb. 28--FORT MILL -- Fort Mill is getting another hotel, this time inside town limits. Last fall, the Fort Mill Times reported Warren Norman Co. would develop a six-story, 102-room Hampton Inn and Suites behind Lowe's Home Improvement off Hwy. 160. That puts the hotel just outside Fort Mill town limits. Now the company has plans for a second. "We have contracted with a second hotel," said Ralph Norman, company president. Feb. 28--Sands Casino Bethlehem officials late Friday revealed that computer hackers who took over the company websites on Feb. 11 also accessed the private information of tens of thousands of customers who visited the Bethlehem facility since it opened in 2009. In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Las Vegas Sands Corp. stated that the "legally protected" personal information of customers who have visited the Bethlehem Casino was breached by hackers. Feb. 28--On the same day a campaign to force a vote on the new Kings arena ended, a developer announced Thursday he was moving forward with plans to turn a single-room occupancy hotel serving low-income tenants near the arena site into a market-rate boutique hotel. Pete Noack, who is partnering with the Presidio Hotel Group of Fairfield, said he will rehab the dilapidated, five-story Marshall Hotel at Seventh and L streets into an upscale hotel up to 17 stories tall.
