Feb. 21--VIDALIA -- Construction of a 90-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott is expected to begin this summer on the Vidalia Riverfront, Vidalia Mayor Hyram Copeland announced this week. Feb. 21--A class action lawsuit has been filed against the operators of a Linthicum hotel following a carbon monoxide leak last weekend that sent nearly a dozen people to area hospitals. Attorney Donald Discepolo filed the lawsuit in Anne Arundel Circuit Court Tuesday on behalf of Baltimore resident Merletha McKisset, 58, and every other weekend guest of the Westin Baltimore Washington Airport hotel who was exposed to high carbon monoxide levels. Feb. 21--The largest hotel company in the county is considering building a downtown hotel and conference center at the site of the old Frederick News-Post building. Plamondon Hospitality Partners, which owns Marriott hotels in the area, has entered into a tentative contract with Randall Family LLC to purchase the site, at 200 and 212 E. Feb. 21--LAKE GEORGE -- A divided village Planning Board on Wednesday narrowly approved the controversial and long-debated Marriott Courtyard project slated for the west side of Canada Street. The proposed six-story hotel and conference center is the first project that has garnered village approval since the Village Board last year approved a new zoning district that allows for buildings of up to six stories.
