December 27, 2013
Dec. 27--New ownership of the Mayfair, Renaissance Grand and former Lennox hotels will shake up the downtown St. Louis market in 2014. December 26, 2013
Dec. 26--As the race to develop more hotels in Rochester picks up speed, a project to build a 91-room hotel is gearing up in the Kutzky Park area. A group of local investors led by Nick Pompeian and Harshal Patel plan to build a four-story Fairfield Inn & Suites on the site of the current Courtesy Inn, 510 17th Ave. N.W., near the Miracle Mile shopping center. Fairfield is Marriott's budget brand. "We think it's an incredible site. Several restaurants are within walking distance. It's extremely visible from U.S. 52," Pompeian said. "We think we're positioned perfectly for a hotel. We think it's going to be a home run." If things go

December 26, 2013
Dec. 26--LAVALE -- A tentative 2015 opening date has been set for an 84-room Holiday Inn Express hotel in LaVale, a company official said. "I believe it is expected to be a new development (newly constructed)," said Manjusha Sharma, a specialist in corporate communications for InterContinental Hotel Group. Plans for a hotel at the end of Wesley Avenue have been discussed since at least 2010 in connection with development near Campground Road, Braddock Road and Interstate 68. County Attorney Bill Rudd mentioned plans for the hotel in connection to a road opening petition at last week's Allegany County Commission meeting. "The purpose is
Hawaii Hotels Set October ADR Record with a 10% Jump in Rates
December 25, 2013
Dec. 25--Rising room rates helped Hawaii hotels set a new revenue record for October, but the high prices continued to chip away at occupancy rates. The average daily room rate rose to $208.85 a month in October, up 10 percent from the same month a year ago, according a report released Tuesday by Hospitality Advisors LLC, an industry consulting group. The room rate represented a new high for October, as did the $269 million in total revenue collected during the month. Meanwhile, softening room demand led to a decline in hotel occupancy for the sixth consecutive month on a year-over-year basis. Hawaii's hotels were 72.7 percent full in O
