Dec. 14--An empty high-rise hotel dating to the 1920s in downtown Los Angeles will be brought back to life by new owners who hope to make it into a four-star boutique inn. The 13-story former Case Hotel on the southeast corner of Broadway and 11th Street was purchased by local developers Frank Stork, the Kor Group and Channing Henry of Alma Development, the buyers said. Dec. 14--Wynn Resorts is going all in for Monday's hearing on the suitability of its proposed $1.3 billion gaming palace in Everett after the state gaming board backed a land deal for the pricey project yesterday. Dec. 14--Few hotels in the Charlotte area appear to be complying with a new state law requiring installation of carbon monoxide detectors. In August, a new state law mandated that hotels and other lodging establishments install the detectors in every enclosed space with a fossil-fuel burning heater, appliance or fireplace and in every room that shares a wall, floor or ceiling with such spaces. Jacobs Real Estate Advisors Acquires Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham San Antonio, Texas for $4.6 Million

Dec. 13--A New York-based Jacobs Real Estate Advisors purchased an extended-stay hotel on the Northeast Side. The Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham San Antonio near Loop 1604 and Interstate 35 is the sixth hotel the real estate investment firm acquired this year, according to a news release. The firm bought the property for $4.6 million from Live Oaks Apartments LP. In the last year, the hotel underwent a $2 million renovation. JREA Management, a sister company of the investment firm, will manage the property.
