Nov. 14--PLAINS TWP. -- Construction crews and new employees at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs completed finishing touches Wednesday at the new $50 million hotel and adjacent convention center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. today to open the seven-story, 238-room hotel and 20,000-square-foot convention center. The hotel will open to guests Friday night, said Mike Bean, president and general manager of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Nov. 13--A ceremony today will launch renovation plans for a vacant, landmark building in Whitehall that is intended to provide new vitality to the city's downtown. Nov. 13--BRISTOL, Tenn. -- A building permit has been issued to a South Carolina company that plans to build a $5 million Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel in the Exit 74 area at the former Confetti's night club site, city officials announced Tuesday. Nov. 13--Developer Ed Bushor and his longtime friend, marine artist Wyland, are buying the bankrupt Naniloa Volcanoes Hotel for $5.2 million, a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge confirmed Tuesday. The $5.2 million offer beat out an earlier unconfirmed bid for $3.7 million by Ramco Properties, owner of the Hilo Hawaiian, which is next door to the Naniloa. Nov. 13--After nearly two hours of debate, the Carolina Beach Town Council at its meeting Tuesday approved a conditional-use permit for a proposed oceanfront Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel.
