The Marathon golf and tennis club's 49 certificated members unanimously approved a plan on Aug. 22 to sell the property to a group headed by Marathon Finance Director Peter Rosasco and Keys developer Marvin Rappaport. Sept. 07--It's not as much as was sought, but the city's Redevelopment Commission appears ready to contribute $750,000 toward the $10 million renovation of the long-vacant Indiana Hotel. Sept. 07--A Madison company's plan to develop another hotel just south of Mitchell International Airport is moving forward. Raymond Management Co. wants to develop a three-story hotel at 5880 S. Howell Ave., according to a new zoning proposal filed with the Milwaukee Common Council. The new hotel would be next to a 143-room Hilton Garden Inn, which Raymond opened in 2010 at 5890 S. Sept. 06--A plan to build an additional hotel near the Bayfront Convention Center on Erie's west bayfront is getting a multimillion-dollar boost from state government. The Erie County Convention Center Authority will get $25 million in state funds, distributed over five years, to develop a hotel just west of the convention center, 1 Sassafras Pier. Gov. Sept. 06--MERIDIAN -- City officials are looking over plans by a developer to build two new hotels in Meridian. John Tampa of Ascent Hospitality Management Co. met with the Meridian City Council on Tuesday to go over plans and ask for help with the project. Tampa announced in August that he wants to build a Marriot Fairfield Inn and Suites; a Marriott TownePlace Suites, an office building and two restaurants on a 16-acre site off of 1-20 near Cracker Barrel in Meridian.
