July 21--Early next year, residents and visitors of Wetumpka not only will be able to gaze at a towering hotel standing tall over the city's downtown area, they will be able to stay there. Wind Creek Wetumpka, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians' $246 million hotel and casino, is on schedule to be completed in early 2014. July 21--Dizengoff Trading Company Ltd., owned by the Zelicha family, has obtained a building permit to build a 273-room hotel at its seafront Lagoon project in Netanya. The Netanya Municipality has been promoting several plans for the construction of seafront hotels along its boardwalk. 380 hotel rooms have been built in the city in the past five years, more than in any other city. The Lagoon is a hotel, residential and commercial project with four buildings, including two residential high-rises, one with 34 floors and the other with 37 floors, with a total of 320 apartments. July 21--Sales of Hawaii hotels are on a blistering pace with the value of all transactions in the first half of 2013 reaching $1.59 billion, nearly matching the total for all of 2004, a record year for hotel deals here. Joe Toy, president and CEO of Hospitality Advisors LLC, and other hotel industry analysts say the data reflect significant investment interest in Hawaii hotels that has not been seen in decades -- since the frenetic pace of the Japanese bubble economy. July 20--Digi-Key in Thief River Falls is getting a new neighbor. GrandStay Hotel & Suites has broken ground near the electronic components distributor that accounts for more than 2,500 jobs in the Thief River Falls area. The new lodging site is no coincidence according to Jeff Jasperson, property manager at JLJ Management, the hotel's on-site management company. July 19--An expansion that will add 24,800 square feet to Hotel Floyd is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2014. This Phase 2 of Hotel Floyd will include: on the 1st floor, a conference space, which can accommodate up to 75 people, in addition to a hotel lobby, breakfast area, gift shop, and restrooms; and on the 2nd -- 4th -- floors, a total of 24 guest rooms.
