July 17--A 33-story hotel and condo tower would rise up across the street from the John Hancock Tower in the Back Bay under plans formally filed today with the Boston Redevelopment Authority. Trinity Stuart LLC released drawings and details about its 40 Trinity Place project, which will include a 227-room hotel, 115 condos and a two-story sky lobby. The tower would feature a "signature casual neighborhood restaurant" on the ground floor to be run by an "acclaimed local chef," according to the filings. July 17--The Tel Aviv Regional Planning and Building Commission today approved the plan to demolish the police station at 221A Dizengoff Street in north Tel Aviv, and build a residential and hotel complex on the site by its landowner, Israel Levy. The plan calls for a seven-storey building with two wings, one residential with 35 apartments, and the other a 160-room hotel. At least 20 percent of the apartments will be small units, of up to 68 square meters of main space. The project will include a commercial ground floor facing Dizengoff Street. July 17--Temporary as it may be, opponents of a six-story Amherst hotel got their first big victory Wednesday in a long fight to stop the controversial project. The ruling by a State Supreme Court justice halts construction on the Hyatt Place on Main Street development and will stop backhoes from tearing up more land for at least a month. Justice John L. July 17--Fewer tourists stayed in hotels during recent mid-year holidays in Costa Rica, and owners reported that occupancy rates were 12 percentage points lower than those obtained last year. The figure comes from a survey conducted by the National Tourism Chamber (CANATUR) among 102 hosting businesses. Occupation during the period barely surpassed 55 percent, while the previous year, hotels reported occupancy rates close to 68 percent. July 17--The proposed redevelopment of the former Fun Center property near the bypass and Schulman Avenue continues to breeze through city approvals as the Garden City Commission on Tuesday approved three items related to the project.
