July 11, 2013--Three groups of developers have pitched plans for converting the 72-year-old Family Court at 1801 Vine Street into a luxury hotel, raising expectations for another big investment in an area already undergoing major change. Suit Claims Company Pays Women Less than Men Performing Similar Work July 11--The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Thursday it has sued Extended Stay Hotels for paying women less than men performing the same work at the company's facility in Lexington Park. According to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Latoya Weaver was hired as a guest services representative at the Extended Stay America hotel in St. Mary's County at $8 an hour. July 11, 2013--The 18-story hotel being built next to Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley has passed the halfway point on its construction stage, and is sponsoring a meeting for contractors interested in bidding for additional work. Caesars Entertainment Changing Corporate Structure to Raise $1.5 billion for Future Development

July 10--CARSON CITY -- The Nevada Gaming Control Board on Wednesday approved a juggling of the corporate structure of Caesars Entertainment to permit it to raise up to $1.5 billion to pursue future development. The change will give the company, which has more than 30 casinos in the United States and three foreign countries -- including eight in Las Vegas -- "access to the financial market," said Michael Cohen, senior vice president of Caesars. Cohen said the same owners still will be in charge and the management will not change. Caesars is currently seeking approval from Maryland to hold 58 percent of the Horseshoe casino in Baltimore.

July 12, 2013--The new owners of the 174-room Red Lion Hotel near the Oregon Convention Center plan to launch an $8 million to $10 million remodel next year. Grand Ventures Hotel LLC, which bought the hotel last month, is best known in Portland as the partnership behind the 174-room downtown Hotel Modera. The group bought that property, a former Days Inn, in 2007 and reopened it in 2008 as a luxury boutique hotel. No June Rebound for Atlantic City Casinos as Revenue Falls 13% for Month

July 10--Atlantic City's casinos did not get a June rebound in gambling revenue to give them upward momentum heading into the peak summer tourist season. Altogether, the 12 casino hotels took in $240.2 million in revenue from their slot machines and table games, down 13 percent from a year ago, according to figures released Wednesday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Slot winnings were $179.1 million, off 11 percent, while revenue from table games came in at $61.1 million, a decline of 16 percent compared to last year. The gambling industry has struggled with revenue declines in each month so far this year, showing that
