Feroleto late Tuesday denied a request for a temporary restraining order made by nearby residents who oppose the project. New 175-room Marriott Rising from the Rubble in Haiti Getting a $26.5 million Boost

July 03--A new Marriott hotel rising from the rubble in Haiti is getting a $26.5 million financial boost. The International Financial Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, announced Wednesday that it will provide the financing toward the hotel's ongoing construction. The 175-room hotel is being built near downtown Port-au-Prince in the Turgeau neighborhood. Marriott International and telecom giant Digicel broke ground on the hotel last year, and it is expected to open in 2015. The Newly Renovated La Quinta Inn & Suites Opens in Boise, Idaho

July 02--A newly renovated La Quinta Inn & Suites -- Boise Towne Square will open in Boise. Located at 7965 W. Emerald St., the hotel had previously been an AmeriTel In before it was purchased by Western State Lodging & Management in December. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. La Quintas are also located in Meridian and Caldwell. The renovated hotel is four stories tall and has 124 rooms, 19 suites and a meeting space for 80 people.

A 106-room Home2 Suites is Planned for North Bellingham, Washington

July 03, 2013 --BELLINGHAM -- Plans are in the works for another hotel in north Bellingham. Last week, building plans were submitted to the city for a 106-room, four-story, extended-stay hotel called Home2 Suites By Hilton. The hotel is slated to be built at 805 Home Lane, right off of Northwest Avenue near Chambers Chevrolet Cadillac. It's also near where two other hotels are currently under construction. City Planners Approve Fairfield Inn & Suites Project for Santa Cruz, California

June 29--SANTA CRUZ -- The city Planning Commission on Thursday approved a Mission Street hotel that was approved four years earlier, but never built. The panel gave its blessing to build the hotel, a Fairfield Inn & Suites, at 2956 Mission St. Ahead of the meeting, City planner Ryan Bane had recommended approval, saying the revised project is well-designed, consistent with coastal and zoning plans and compatible with surrounding industrial uses on the Westside. At 60 percent occupancy and rates of $110 per night, the hotel would generate $200,000 in room taxes per year, according to Bane. Occupancy at city hotels averaged 61 per
