What is a paid press release?
All announcements/releases that are marketing, advertorial, or promotional require a posting and distribution fee. Marketing and advertising pieces provided by suppliers/vendors to the industry will be assessed the posting and distribution fee. Please see our Media Kit for current rates.
What qualifies as a free press release?
Press releases we publish at no charge include hotel acquisitions, new developments, new hotel openings, new property management, upcoming and completed renovations, and appointments. Appointments are limited to Executive Leadership, General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage, and Spa Director.
How do I submit a press release?
A user can submit a paid release for posting on Hotel Online by using the Submit Content button on the navigation bar. A user must have an account to submit content.
You can also email the press release to info@hotel-online.com. Include the release in the body of the email or as a Word document. PDF files do not copy and paste properly. Be sure to include a boilerplate(s)/about company info, current logo, and any images. File sizes are limited to 2MB. Do not include coded/tracking links. They will be deleted.
How do I submit a bylined article?
Please email the article to info@hotel-online.com for consideration. Hotel Online staff will determine if the article is approved for posting.
Our criteria for posting and distributing articles such as these free of charge are that they are educational, substantive, benefit the hotel industry as a whole, and completely void of marketing/advertorial or self-promotion. No links or company mentions.
We do not have a deadline or a word count limit. Just try to keep them from being too lengthy.
Provide a short bio for the author, a headshot, and contact information. You may have a link to the company in the bio.
If the article is not approved, the sender will be notified and can choose to purchase a posting and distribution position.
How do I submit an event?
Email the details to info@hotel-online.com. Please include the event title, location, start date, end date, and event link.
Why is there a fee for property award postings?
With as many awards and accolades for properties worldwide, we do not post award releases unless the property or management company agrees to the posting and distribution fee. We occasionally cover industry awards if all recipients are included in the release.
How do I change my email address?
A newsletter subscriber can update their contact information by clicking “Update Preferences” at the bottom of the newsletter.
