Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO Completes $57 M Renovation for its Broadmoor West

May 13, 2014

May 13--When The Broadmoor hotel opened Broadmoor West in 1975, it was separated from the rest of the hotel property by more than just Cheyenne Lake. Unlike The Broadmoor's main building, which opened in 1918, and other buildings that followed, Broadmoor West's contemporary architecture looked nothing like the rest of the property. The narrow building had a mostly featureless facade of balconies from one end to the other, and lacked a distinctive architectural element, such as towers on other Broadmoor buildings. "It was fair to say it was not a good time for architecture, in general, in the '70s," said Broadmoor President and CEO Steve...
