THE RENOWNED COLLECTION BRAND CONTINUES ITS MOMENTUM ACROSS GREATER CHINA OFFERING A MEMORABLE AND MEANINGFUL SENSE OF LUXURY HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE ON HAINAN ISLAND
Accor Greater China, together with Sanya Jinghai Cheng Real Estate Development Co. Ltd., is pleased to announce the signing of a new MGallery Hotel Collection address in the cosmopolitan heart of Sanya city center, on the spectacular island of Hainan. The 187-room, 25-storey tower is set to open by the end of 2025 and will benefit from Sanya’s thriving tourism industry, luxurious resort reputation, and growing business segment. Along with the recent signing of Chengdu Financial City – MGallery Collection, Accor is set to open five MGallery hotels in Greater China this year, including the recently opened Dunhua Mansion Taipei – MGallery Collection. This will double the brand’s portfolio in the country, from its current five hotels in operation, to 10 by the end of 2024.
“MGallery is a brand that has dared to disrupt the industry with a constellation of curated experiences that Accor is rapidly expanding across Greater China. Sanya City Center is a radiant destination for this growing collection,” said Gary Rosen, CEO, Accor Greater China. “The beauty of MGallery is that each of its hotels offers a singular experience. In Sanya City Center, we will create a hotel where urban sophistication is perfectly balanced with the well-being of island living, with an artistic and design-led touch. We look forward to bringing MGallery’s memorable and meaningful sense of luxury to the vibrant community of Sanya.”
Sanya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in China, attracting millions of visitors, who enjoy its pristine beaches, tropical climate, natural abundance, and rich biodiversity. With the government support, Sanya is on track to become a leading financial and economic center with advanced infrastructure. As Sanya continues to maximize its advantages to boost economic growth, increase its trade and economic openness, and attract the head offices of leading Chinese and foreign companies, it is also strengthening measures to promote ecological and innovative development. This balance of geographic and commercial advantages make Sanya an attractive market for the growing MGallery brand, while aligning with Accor’s commitment to shaping the future of sustainable hospitality and contributing positively to its communities.
The site of the new Sanya City Center – MGallery Collection resides in the heart of Jinghai Cheng – Lugang Xishan. Designed as a glittering beacon rising in Sanya’s downtown center, the new hotel will feature a dynamic rooftop pool and bar scene, with stunning views of the nearby Dadonghai Resort Area and the entire Sanya Bay. With its central location and convenient transportation access, guests will find it easy to make day trips to the surrounding mountains and beaches, making the new hotel a charming place to stay for both leisure and business travelers.
“The community of Jinghai Cheng – Lugang Xishan is the masterpiece of our 20-year development project and we believe that our new MGallery hotel will be its crowning glory – where visitors and locals will come to enjoy some of the finest moments that Sanya has to offer,” said Wang Xiaoke, General Manager, Sanya Jinghai Cheng Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. “We chose MGallery for the character and culture it will bring to our neighborhood, integrating the spirit of Sanya while delivering the brand experiences that resonate with Chinese travelers. We are also delighted to partner with Accor, a company that shares our values for creating multi-faceted, sustainably-minded hospitality experiences, and delivers a global reach through its powerful distribution and loyalty platform.”
The hotels of MGallery are distinctive not only because of their strong storytelling and design identity, but also thanks to their warmth, sense of well-being and their ability to immerse guests into a local community experience. In Greater China, the brand is on an ambitious path of expansion, with five hotels opening in 2024: Dunhua Mansion Taipei – MGallery Collection (opened); Chengdu Expo Waterfall Hotel – MGallery Collection; Dangkou Ancient Town Hotel Wuxi – MGallery Collection; Ming Hotel Nanjing – MGallery Collection; and Fashion Town Hotel Shenzhen – MGallery Collection.
The brand currently has five fascinating MGallery Hotel Collection properties in operation, including The View Changbai Mountain – MGallery; Ocean Spring Resort Chengdu – MGallery; Dongfengyun Hotel Mi’le – MGallery; The Silveri Hong Kong – MGallery; and, AKI Hong Kong – MGallery.
