Scottsdale, Arizona (April 20, 2023) – ADERO Scottsdale Resort – an Autograph Collection hotel perched 2,500 feet above the Sonoran Desert – announces Michael Valkos’ appointment to general manager. ADERO has long been the recipient of prestigious accolades from publication and readers’ choice awards, including Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure, and will continue to flourish under Valkos’ leadership.
Valkos brings over 18 years of hospitality experience to his new role, including Moxy General Manager at Twenty Four Seven Hotels and other leadership positions at Hyatt and Evolution Hospitality. As general manager at ADERO Scottsdale, Valkos will oversee daily operations of ADERO’s guestrooms and suites, property programming, staff management and guest relations.

A decorated professional, Valkos has received numerous recognitions throughout his career. In 2017, he was nominated for “Opening General Manager of the Year,” and under his direction the Hampton Inn Woodbridge, he received the 10th highest quality assurance score in the Hampton Brand. Valkos’ expertise has also resulted in 2016 Booking.com and TripAdvisor excellence awards for properties he previously managed.
Valkos is a graduate of Montclair State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management, in addition to a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing.
