Providence, R.I. (June 6, 2016) – Hilton Garden Inn Providence, owned and managed by TPG Hotels & Resorts and differentiated as Providence’s only waterfront hotel, today announced that Amy Buzzell – an established sales and marketing professional – has joined its team as director of sales. With nearly 20 years of experience overseeing sales for various hospitality properties, Buzzell will apply her expertise to developing effective pricing and revenue generating strategies for the hotel. Currently operating as the Wyndham Garden Providence at 220 India Street, the property is in the process of being updated and rebranded, and is scheduled to fly the Hilton Garden Inn flag in July 2016.
As director of sales, Buzzell will use her relationship-building and revenue generating skills to identify new business leads, develop and implement tailored sales strategies and elevate guests’ experience at the property by ensuring an easy booking process and quality interactions with the hotel’s sales team. She will also develop effective pricing strategies, identify ways to grow the hotel’s occupancy and craft marketing strategies that align with and support Hilton Garden Inn’s You Can Count On Us brand culture.
“Amy is an incredibly dedicated, experienced and energetic sales leader who will be a tremendous asset to Hilton Garden Inn Providence,” said Regina DelBonis, regional director of sales and marketing for TPG Hospitality. “Her robust background in the hotel industry combined with her success with advancing hospitality occupancy and her innate ability to build relationships will contribute greatly to the success of this newly rebranded hotel.”
A resident of Bellingham, Massachusetts, Buzzell joins the Hilton Garden Inn Providence after serving as director of sales for various Marriott properties including Residence Inn locations in Andover, Foxborough, Franklin, Woburn and Charlestown, Massachusetts. She played an integral role in opening four of these Marriott properties from the ground up. Buzzell launched her career in hotel positions including front desk agent and restaurant manager – making her a well-rounded hospitality industry professional.
Throughout her career, she has consistently exceeded service expectations, quotas and booking goals. She has also served in leadership and fundraising roles for charitable organizations including Children’s Miracle Network and American Red Cross. Additionally, Buzzell is the recipient of a number of Marriott awards including the Golden Circle Award and Living the Sales Award.
