Bangkok, September 2, 2015 – Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is pleased to announce the appointment of new General Managers at two of its resorts in Thailand.
Sascha Hemmann has been appointed as General Manager of Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa. Sascha moves to Phuket from his previous position as General Manager at Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villa Resort & Spa.
Born in Germany and completing his studies at the College of Tourism & Hotel Management in Berlin, Sascha has enjoyed a fruitful career in hotels across the world and brings over twenty years’ experience to his new position. He joined Anantara following five years with Capella Hotel Group, holding Hotel Manager and General Manager positions in Singapore and China and most recently was General Manager at their property in Virginia Beach in the USA.
Starting his career in hospitality in Germany working in Food & Beverage, Sascha then moved into Front Office and Rooms Division, working with a number of luxury hotel brands including Raffles, One&Only, Dusit Thani and Fairmont, with his career taking him to the Maldives, Dubai, Royal Brunei and the Caribbean.
In Hua Hin, Manish Jha has been appointed as General Manager at Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa. Manish joins the team at Anantara Hua Hin from his most recent position as General Manager at AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa, where he oversaw the rebranding of the hotel and the launch of Minor Hotel Group’s first property in the Seychelles.
An Indian national, Manish has over 15 years’ experience in the luxury hotel industry, the last nine years of which have been spent with Minor Hotel Group. He joined the group in 2006 as Director of Food & Beverage in the pre-opening team for Anantara Dhigu Resort & Spa and Naladhu in the Maldives, before being promoted to Resorts Manager for both Anantara Dhigu and Anantara Veli in the Maldives. His first General Manager position took him to Koh Samui in Thailand, to Anantara Bophut Resort & Spa, where he stayed for four and a half years, including overseeing the extensive refurbishment of the resort.
Receiving a Diploma in Hotel Management at the Catering Technology and Applied Institute of Hotel Management in Gwalior, India, Manish began his career in hospitality in Food & Beverage, working at The Trident in Agra, India, and with Taj Hotels & Resorts and One&Only, before joining Anantara.
