MAUI, HAWAII (March 23, 2017) – Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Jokovich to the position of Area Vice President and General Manager where he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 15-acre award-winning beachfront resort. Responsible for the vision and development of Andaz Maui and managing all operational aspects at the property including sales, marketing, revenue management, food and beverage and future growth efforts. As an Area Vice President, Jokovich will also support other Hyatt properties in Hawaii as well as properties in Texas and Minneapolis.
Joining Hyatt Hotels in 1984, Jokovich brings more than three decades of valued brand and hospitality experience. Most recently as Area Vice President and General Manager of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Austin, TX, Jokovich oversaw Hyatt branded properties throughout the central United States. Prior to that, he was Area Vice President and General Manager to the Grand Hyatt San Francisco.
With an extensive resume and deep roots within Hyatt Hotels, Jokovich is a true asset to the Andaz Maui team. Jokovich’s vast experience and intel spans from overseeing executive housekeeping responsibilities, managing general operations and guest experiences to overseeing numerous hotel and restaurant launches, re-openings, renovations and complete rebrands.
Throughout his career, Jokovich has also lived in Hawaii numerous times, previously serving as General Manager of Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa. On a personal note, Jokovich first traveled to the island as newlyweds with his wife Debbie where they welcomed their first son.
