Honolulu, Hawaii (March 13, 2024) – Aqua-Aston Hospitality, a distinguished player in the hospitality industry with a legacy dating back to 1948, proudly announces the appointment of Andrea Mue as its new Managing Director. Mue steps into this role succeeding Denis Ebrill, who recently retired.
Headquartered in Honolulu, Aqua-Aston is one of Hawaii’s premier vacation rental program operators, offers condominium administration services, and manages hotels and resorts in Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, and Costa Rica. In addition to its proprietary brands, Aqua Hotels & Resorts and Aston Hotels & Resorts, the company serves as an approved, third-party operator for global hospitality brands, including Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, and IHG.Â
Mue leads a specialized team of strategic operations and commercial specialists to support Aqua-Aston’s diverse business model. In steering the company’s approach to investment opportunities, deals, and risk management, she ensures the delivery of exceptional value for guests, residents, partners, and owners. One of her greatest strengths lies in her unwavering commitment to challenging the status quo. She consistently demonstrates a keen understanding of the human side of the business, emphasizing values such as integrity and honesty, accuracy in reporting, and a commitment to strategic agility.
 Mue joined Aqua-Aston in December 2018 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Executive. She spearheaded a transformation in the company’s financial strategy, implementing substantive changes to enhance the company’s accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and audit functions. Her foresight and leadership proved especially invaluable in navigating the unparalleled challenges faced by the hospitality industry during the pandemic and global economic downturn.
Her passion for hospitality traces back to her undergraduate years at UC Santa Barbara, where she studied business economics and provided part-time accounting services for a local hotel. After graduating, she continued her professional journey at Ernst & Young in the hospitality finance division. Her career highlights include a significant tenure at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, culminating in her role as Chief Financial Officer, and serving as EVP and Chief Financial Officer at The Chartres Lodging Group & Kokua Hospitality before joining Aqua-Aston.
Recently acknowledged among the top 50 women leaders in Hawaii by Women We Admire, a distinguished organization of accomplished women executives and leaders across the U.S. and Canada, Mue continues to enhance her expertise. She actively contributes as a member of the Financial Management Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
