Fort Collins, Colo. – September 21, 2017 – Hilton Fort Collins recently completed the final stages of a renovation spanning all 255 guest accommodations and public areas, ballroom space, and pool area with indoor swimming pool and whirlpool. The fitness center was also newly renovated in addition to a facelift to the exterior including new outdoor signage and upgraded landscaping and parking. Among the high-tech updates are new RFID keys and the implementation of Hilton Digital check-in and room selection technology for Hilton HHonors members.
This renovation was completed under Kevin F. Smith, recently appointed as Hilton Fort Collins general manager by Atrium Hospitality. A seasoned hotelier with 32 years of experience at the helm of Atrium legacy hotels throughout the West and Midwest, Smith joined Hilton Fort Collins, adjacent to Colorado State University in the Rocky Mountain foothills, in the midst of the multi-million-dollar renovation.
“For three decades, Kevin has been a trusted leader for hotels that are now part of Atrium Hospitality, and his contributions have been invaluable,” said Daniel Abernethy, president, Atrium Hospitality. “We are confident we have the right person in place to lead Hilton Fort Collins as it enters this exciting new phase.”
Smith’s appointment marks his return to Hilton Fort Collins, where he launched his hospitality career working in the hotel’s restaurant in 1985. Most recently, he served six years as general manager of Capitol Plaza Topeka in Kansas. He has also served as general manager of Madison Marriott West in Middleton, Wis. (2004-2010), Holiday Inn Springdale in Arkansas (2000-2004), and Holiday Inn Denver International Airport (1997-2000).
