B Hotels & Resorts, a national lifestyle hotel brand, has revealed a new historic property on 1300 Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The latest brand concept, B On Canal has begun its grand conversion with the addition of expanded meeting room space and a full-service restaurant and bar that is sure to tempt the palette of both guests and locals. The hotel is situated in the bustling central business and theater district near Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Tulane Medical Center, the Bio District, and within walking distance to the French Quarter.

B On Canal was originally built in the 1920s when the area only consisted of low- and mid-rise structures, and today is surrounded by a number of significant historicist buildings. While the architecture reflects a significant period, the interior is being redesigned to evoke the charm and culture of the city, with a French colonial twist. The elements of style are best displayed in the furniture’s detail and fixtures and the accessories adorned in rich hues of purple and gray; baroque patterns; suede and velvet textures; as well as black and white art pieces taken from history.
The extensive revitalization will include all 157 guestrooms and suites, a reconfigured lobby as well as over 1,600 sq. ft. of banquet and meeting space with city views. The full-service food and beverage offerings will include event catering, room service and the addition of a signature restaurant and bar with 95 seats including a private dining room. The destination will invite both locals and guests who desire an authentic experience serving locally-sourced cuisine, creative cocktails and entertainment in “a culture so rich you’ll need a spoon.”
In a city that has long been the epi-center of art, music and exploration, B On Canal will serve as a the fuel to the fire and offer a destination within a destination of vivid culture.
