The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, May 2017 … BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Juan R. Vicioso, Jr., director of sales & marketing for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Stacy Thaler Martin, general manager, made the announcement.
"I am very pleased to welcome Juan to Benchmark and to The Heldrich,” said Ms. Martin. "He comes to us with important sales leadership experience, as well as keen knowledge of all aspects of our business.”
Juan Vicioso brings to The Heldrich 20 years of hospitality experience with a focus on sales and marketing. For the past 12 years he has been a sales leader with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, concentrating on the New York City market, including serving as director of catering and convention services for the W New York and associate director of catering for the Westin Times Square. While with Starwood, Mr. Vicioso received five Top Sales Incentive Awards and with his team won the Starwood Sales Team of the Year for both 2006 and 2014. Earlier in his hospitality career, Vicioso worked in sales leadership positions for properties in Washington, DC. He launched his career at New York’s Waldorf Astoria.
Mr. Vicioso is a second generation hotelier, as his father worked with such legendary properties as New York’s Essex House and the Plaza Hotel, as well as the Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Juan Vicioso is a graduate of the University of Southern New Hampshire where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He resides in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
