The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, July 2018… BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Wayne Thomas director of food and beverage for the Doug Pitcock ’49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center, currently under construction in College Station, Texas. The Benchmark Resorts & Hotelsproperty is expected to open in August. Greg Stafford, general manager, made the announcement.
“I am very happy to welcome Wayne to our team,” said Mr. Stafford. “He brings important food and beverage management experience to our property, in addition to a strong culinary background as executive chef. We look forward to his leadership as part of our executive team.”
Wayne Thomas was previously the director of food and beverage for the Westin Dallas Park Central, Dallas, Texas. He has held the same position, along with the role of executive chef, for the Sheraton Arlington of Arlington, Texas. He began with this property as executive chef.
Mr. Thomas has held executive chef and executive sous chef positions for numerous properties throughout the state of Texas. He attended The University of Texas at Austin, and also Le Chef School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas. He is relocating to College Station.
