NORCROSS, GA, November 18, 2014 – Blueprint RF, a rapidly expanding hotel Internet service provider, announced that it intends to vigorously defend against a patent infringement lawsuit asserted by Nomadix Inc.
In its lawsuit, filed in Central District Court of California on October 24, 2014, Nomadix Inc. alleges Blueprint’s Dominion gateway server infringes on 10 patents held by Nomadix, including servers features such as; guest portal page redirection, hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) guest folio billing, per user bandwidth throttling, and other server programming methods for providing basic hotel Internet access to guests.
Ron Peterson, Blueprint RF’s CEO, said in response to the Nomadix filing: “We respect the intellectual property rights of others, including Nomadix, but we should not be held to pay for patents that we do not utilize. We purposely set out to steer clear of these patents by developing our own platform utilizing open-source software to meet hotel brand requirements for delivering Internet access to their guests. As the underlying facts in this case are brought to light, we’re quite confident we will be vindicated on all accounts.”
Nomadix is a subsidiary of DOCOMO interTouch, which is owned by the $39 billion Japanese mobile phone giant NTT DODOMO.
