San Diego, CA, Nov. 7, 2019 – AC Marriott, an upscale lifestyle hotel, celebrated the groundbreaking of AC San Diego today. Located at 743 Fifth Avenue, the hotel is in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter and provides guests easy access to the San Diego Convention Center, Petco Park, Seaport Village, USS Midway Museum, Waterfront Park and a variety of shops and restaurants. AC by Marriott San Diego is owned and managed by Briad Lodging Group, LLC, the hotel division of Livingston, New Jersey-based The Briad Group. The hotel is one of 11 new properties Briad will open in the next three years.
Community representatives joined Briad executives for the groundbreaking ceremony. Slated to open in March 2021, AC San Diego will employee approximately 100 people and will feature Briad’s newest dining concept – The Bradford Fine Spirits & Tapas, a unique rooftop experience.

AC by Marriott San Diego features a sophisticated, European-inspired design and offers 147 modern guest rooms with sleek furnishings, open closet systems and hardwood floors. Guests can enjoy all of the essentials needed for a smart and convenient stay including European-inspired breakfast options for purchase, a 24-hour fitness center featuring two Peloton® Bikes, mobile check-in/check-out and complimentary advanced Wi-Fi. Guests can relax and unwind at the hotel’s first-floor speakeasy called Love Story or The Bradford rooftop bar with an outdoor pool and cabanas. The property also offers private, flexible meeting space equipped with the latest audio-visual technology.
In addition to AC San Diego, Briad has another 10 Marriott and Hilton lifestyle and extended stay hotels in its pipeline which will open over the next three years which will bring Briad to over $630 million in hotel assets with a total of 21 properties.
