Oct. 02–An Argentine investment group has purchased the Berkeley Shore Hotel in Miami Beach and plans to renovate and expand.

Guesch Inc. was the seller of the 64-room Art Deco property at 1610 Collins Ave. and Majestic Properties handled the deal, which closed Sept. 5.

A representative of the real estate company would not disclose the selling price, but said it was “very close” to the asking price of nearly $13.8 million.

Buyers Jorge Savloff and Marcelo Tenenbaum already own several other hotels in Miami Beach including the Greenview Hotel, Aqua Hotel and Riviere Hotel. Renovation plans at the Berkeley Shore call for 33 more rooms, a rooftop garden, a pool that faces Collins Avenue and underground parking.
