Dec. 06–Social trip-planning site Gogobot announced the latest edition of its semi-annual Travelers’ Favorite Awards on Thursday, with Las Vegas taking honors in two categories.
The city placed fifth among the Top 20 destinations in the world — up a rank from last year — placing behind San Francisco, Paris, New York City and London.
In the World’s Best Hotels category, Steve Wynn’s Encore took second place behind the Royal Hawaiian in Honolulu. MGM Grand also made the list, ranking 11th in the Top 20.
Launched in 2010, Gogobot provides personal trip planning through a user base of more than 3.7 million travelers. Awards rankings are based on user recommendations and visits and culled from more than 580,000 destination reviews posted on the site.
Gogobot also named the top user-rated hotels in Las Vegas, with MGM Grand, Luxor and Mandalay Bay taking the Top Three spots.
