Located in the heart of San Diego’s vibrant Gaslamp Quarter, Omni San Diego Hotel announces the completion of a top-to-bottom renovation. This includes a redesigned poolside experience, two new food and beverage concepts, refreshed meeting and event spaces, and reimagined lobby and guest rooms. The AAA Four Diamond award-winning hotel is located steps away from key landmarks such as Petco Park, Little Italy, San Diego’s Convention Center, and Seaport Village, providing space to curate memorable moments and enjoy an elevated escape amidst the city’s bustling downtown district.

“Omni San Diego Hotel is thrilled to unveil an enhanced guest experience, providing visitors and locals with a relaxing and rejuvenating place to stay while they immerse themselves in everything the city has to offer,” said Charles Cho, General Manager. “We are excited to showcase our new amenities to the public and welcome back baseball fans this season, just in time to take advantage of our Skybridge, which directly connects the hotel to the stadium.”

ELEGANT SOCAL DESIGN

Led by New York-based design studio, Jeffrey Beers International, Omni San Diego Hotel’s new aesthetic presents a warm and dynamic baseball-inspired design that pays homage to its connection with Petco Park and the San Diego Padres. Shades of green and brown are layered throughout the property, complemented by thoughtful details such as stitched leather panels at the reception desk, stadium-style light fixtures, geometric patterned carpets, and curated artwork that engages with the action and motion of baseball through history. The use of ash and maple-toned woods for custom furniture bases, focal planters and wall décor echoes the natural hues and materials of baseball bats, while wool-like fabrics and metal connect to the organic fabric of uniforms and gloves. Capturing the coastal California spirit, the refreshed spaces reflect the hotel’s deep roots in Southern California, seamlessly blending the vibrant energy of America’s favorite pastime with the laid-back elegance of San Diego to create an inviting atmosphere for all visitors.

NEW DESTINATION DINING

Perched on the hotel’ssixth floor, the reimagined Tortuga pool bar and terrace features multiple indoor lounges and an expansive pool deck that overlooks the water, reflecting the area’s bright light and natural energy into the space. The open-air terrace was designed with natural materials and neutral tones, palm tree planters, a custom trellis structure, and playful artwork inspired by San Diego’s pristine beaches and coastal location. Tortuga’s Baja bites and robust beverage menu, inspired by Executive Chef Wenceslao Zavala’s roots in Rosarito, Baja California, feature dishes including Grilled Baja Fish Tacos and Shrimp Adovada, and signature cocktails such as the Lychee Blossom, made with Yobo soju, lychee juice, cane syrup, fresh lemon juice and aquafaba. Providing warmth and refreshing flavors to the space, Tortuga introduces a new standard for poolside dining, while paying homage to its coastal roots.

The hotel’s new street-level restaurant and bar, Ace Porter – headed by Director of Outlet Operations, Priscilla Reyes, and Executive Chef Wenceslao Zavala – offers guests and locals a taste of locally inspired, yet elevated fare. Positioned adjacent to the lobby and with a separate outside entrance, the inviting communal space features a cylindrical bar dramatic light fixtures, stadium-inspired lighting, and wrap-around bottle display. Offering a selection of indoor, outdoor and high-top seating, diners can enjoy a playful menu of “Designated Hitters,” with dishes such as the Blistered Shishito Peppers, Vegetable Meze, and Frings Loaded Nachos for pre-and post-game bites.
