Memphis, TN (May 16, 2022) – Sarah Titus, general manager, and Nicholas Janysek, director of sales, marketing and events of Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis, have been appointed to oversee the new Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis, which is slated to open this summer as the inaugural hotel under the Caption by Hyatt brand. Capitalizing on their recent experience opening and operating Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis, and subsequent knowledge of the market, their roles have been expanded to include both properties, with Titus taking on the role of area general manager and Janysek as area director of sales, marketing and events.
Titus has more than 15 years of unparalleled industry knowledge and experience, having held various front-of-house, back-of-house and managerial positions. After graduating from Eastern Illinois University, Titus began her hospitality career at the Hard Rock Hotel Universal Orlando where she worked her way up the ranks from a front desk agent to assistant guest services manager. Longing to be back in the Windy City, Sarah took her talents to Hard Rock Hotel Chicago, where she later expanded her portfolio by working with brands including Marriott, Hilton and Preferred Hotel Group before joining the Hyatt family. Just prior to her role in Memphis, she was the hotel manager of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, where she played an integral role in leading the hotel to maintain a 90% Overall Guest Satisfaction score for four consecutive years. In her newly expanded role, Titus is managing the opening logistics for Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis, and ultimately will bring a focus on guest satisfaction, handle daily operations, staff development, budgeting and financial planning, and increasing sales and revenue for both properties.
Janysek began his hospitality career in 2007 as an event coordinator at Doubletree Guest Suites Austin, followed by various roles with John Q. Hammons Hotels and Marriott Area Sales, throughout the state of Texas. He later grew his skillset with managerial positions at Hyatt hotels in both Ohio and Maryland, and most recently was director of sales, marketing and events at Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade. While there, he exceeded the property’s annual revenue by closing out 2018 with the highest banquet F&B revenue to date and achieved $300K above budget for the group segment in 2019. In his new role, in addition to leading Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis’ sales and marketing efforts, Janysek will also steer Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis in developing strategies for revenue growth and working with marketing and public relations to ensure consistent media messaging and social communication strategy. He will manage a team of sales associates to create one-of-a-kind individual and group experiences that reflect the culture of the city and maximize revenue potential for the hotel.
Together, they will pioneer this new opening, slated for summer 2022, and will bring the Caption by Hyatt brand to life through the brand’s first hotel in Memphis.
