MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 1, 2015) – Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today appointed Ashish “Alex” Chopra as director of development for the U.S. Southwest region.He will report directly to Philip Silberstein, executive vice president, Development, Americas.
“We have some great development momentum right now, and we see opportunity for growth for our brands in the Southwest region of the U.S. where Alex will be focused,” said Silberstein. “His tenure in the industry and broad development experience will certainly prove to be an asset to our team.”
Chopra brings more than 16 years of hotel franchise development and contract negotiation experience to Carlson Rezidor, with strong performance in licensing, conversions, new construction and site development. Most recently, and for more than a decade, Chopra was at Choice Hotels International. His franchise background also includes development positions with Hilton, Baymont, Ramada, Days Inn and Howard Johnson.
He is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach.
