SAN DIEGO, July 14, 2015 — A new tide is coming in at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. To the delight of enthusiastic San Diego yachters, the luxury hotel has scheduled a $7 million marina renovation that will begin in the final quarter of 2015.
The renovation, which represents an investment by Host Hotels & Resorts, will include the replacement or repair of wood and concrete structures, power panels, rub rails and cleats throughout the 446-slip marina, which is home to approximately 450 yachts. The renovation will be completed one dock at a time, and vessels that are displaced during the overhaul will be temporarily relocated to other areas in the Marina or to other local marinas.
The hotel will also build a new restroom and coin-operated laundry facility for the convenience of marina visitors.
“This project is the most extensive renovation in the 30-year history of the marina,” said Steve Pagano, manager of Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. “We’re confident that this overhaul will result in a marina that our customers and the community at large are extremely proud of.”
Guests at the marina enjoy access to the hotel’s state-of-the-art fitness center and resort-style swimming pools and whirlpools. Additionally, marina guests are offered a 10 percent discount at the hotel’s five on-site restaurants. Food and beverage purchases can be charged to guests’ marina accounts for a completely hassle-free dining experience.

The hotel also features Exchange, which offers a variety of on-the-go snacks and drinks, and a Starbucks coffeehouse.
