SAUSALITO, Calif. (June 18, 2019) – Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa, a Victorian inspired hillside hotel located in the quaint town of Sausalito, is excited to announce the appointment of Pat Sorber as General Manager. Drawing on more than 40 years of industry experience, Sorber is responsible for managing all operations of the recently renovated boutique hotel, sales and marketing, front desk operations and human resources, and, most importantly, managing the guest experience.
“We are incredibly fortunate to welcome Pat to Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa,” states Michael Mohr, Principal of MetWest Terra Hospitality. “Pat’s extensive experience in management, hospitality and knowledge of the Bay Area makes her a strong asset to our team.”
Inspired by the opportunity to work with people from all facets of life, Sorber spent the past few decades leading hotels throughout the region. She joined Casa Madrona after being an Asset Manager/Task Force General Manager where she helped companies search for permanent General Managers. Previously, Sorber held the General Manager position at several area hotels including Four Points by Sheraton in San Rafael, Hilton Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, and San Francisco Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf. Prior, Sorber held positions including Director of Sales, Operations Manager, and General Manager at Interstate Hotels & Resorts for 14 years.
“As a Bay Area resident for over 20 years, I have always admired Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa,” Sorber said. “I’m thrilled to join the team and look forward to delivering an industry leading luxury experience at one of Sausalito’s most historic properties.”
Active and engaged in her industry, Sorber was the first recipient of the San Francisco Hotel Council’s annual Hotel Heroes Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2004 and served as Board Chair for both the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and the Marin Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also won numerous sales awards early in her career as a hotelier.
Born in the borough of Queens, New York, and raised upstate in Rochester, Sorber attended Rochester Institute of Technology and majored in social work before working her way up from Front Desk and Sales & Marketing employee to an accomplished General Manager in the hospitality industry. She resides in San Rafael with her husband, Rob, and enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, cruising, and spending time with her two daughters and six grandchildren.
