Bangkok, Thailand, Feb. 27, 2015 – Centara Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc became the latest Vietnamese property acquired by Centara Hotels & Resorts after a management contract was signed with the owners, Binh Le Xuan Ltd. Companies and Commercial Services.
The four-star resort is Centara's second property on the idyllic Phu Quoc Island and is a desirable complement to the two other properties in Centara's Vietnamese portfolio. Centara Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is currently on schedule to be opened during 2015's third quarter. It is expected to quickly become a valued addition to the island's growing tourist sector.
Chris Bailey, Centara's vice president of sales and marketing, said. "This new resort is a highly desirable acquisition for us, because it has a different style and product focus than our other properties in the region so we will be able to expand our appeal to a wider cross-section of the market."
The resort will have 143 rooms in total, and guests will have access to the full range of facilities including technology-serviced meeting facilities, an all-day restaurant, a swimming pool complete with pool bar, a fitness center and full wireless connectivity throughout the property. The resort will also contain Kids Club facilities, and will contain a new Spa Cenvaree, a branch of Centara's award-winning luxury spa providers.
Centara Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is located on the main coast of Phu Quoc Island, in Vietnam's Kien Giang Province, and is a 10 minute drive from Phu Quoc International Airport, which is serviced from Ho Chi Minh Airport and Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi.
Vietnam's largest island, Phu Quoc Island is itself reason enough to visit this latest Centara venture; as an exceptionally peaceful island getaway, floating tranquilly in the Gulf of Thailand, it is still just 50 kilometers away from the Vietnamese mainland and a short 50-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City.
Most of the island is given over to a National Park, with a largely undeveloped interior, so while Phu Quoc is becoming known for its clear waters and crystalline white sands, it still retains an untouched air, and is a natural destination for those seeking exceptional scuba-diving and snorkeling, as well as for anyone who enjoys a laid-back atmosphere with friendly, approachable locals.
Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts, said "I am proud to be overseeing the ongoing expansion of the Centara brand, and I expect great things of tourism in Vietnam in the years to come."
