OXNARD, Calif. -November 26, 2014 – Hilton Worldwide today announced the appointment of Colleen Huther to the position of general manager of the AAA Four Diamond Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel & Resort. Nestled along the Central Coast, Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel & Resort is the only all-suite resort in Southern California to sit directly on the beach. The property recently underwent a major renovation of all guest suites and public space including the lobby, meeting rooms and breakfast and evening reception area. In her new role, Huther will oversee the day-to-day operations of this full-service, upscale resort and report directly to Area Vice President, Ben Fusco.

While Huther showed an early interest in the hotel industry, working at a small resort in the Pocono Mountains as a 15 year-old, her true career in hospitality began as assistant food and beverage director of The Georgetown Marbury House in Washington, D.C. Following this she spent eight years as director of sales and marketing at The Historic Inns of Annapolis, a Grand Heritage Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland, before being promoted to national sales director at Grand Heritage Hotels and its 28 independent properties.
Most recently, Huther held the position of general manager of The Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland, managed by the Thayer Lodging Group. The property experienced tremendous growth and success under her tenure. Her role with Thayer expanded as a VP of asset management overseeing 11 full and select service hotels while continuing as general manager of The Annapolis hotel.
She has been involved with and supported many philanthropic and community service events during her years in Annapolis including, the Children’s Miracle Network and Rebuilding Together.
A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Business Administration, Huther has been married for 28 years and has three children.
