CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY (October 15, 2018) – Columbia Sussex, one of the largest Marriott franchisees in the country, is in the midst of an aggressive renovation program to at least nine of its Marriott owned and operated properties. Most recently, it completed a multi- million dollar renovation to one of Long Island’s landmark hotels, the Melville Marriott Long Island, which has hosted Fortune 500 executives, athletes competing at the nearby sporting venues, to large conventions and conferences.
One of the largest full-service hotels built in the ideal Nassau-Suffolk corridor of Long Island, the property is centrally located to corporate parks where the headquarters of Fortune 500 companies reside, as well as popular attractions such as Walt Whitman Shops, to the upcoming PGA Championship at the Bethpage Black and beaches.
Each of Columbia Sussex’s Marriott renovations feature the new Marriott Hotel (MH) standards focusing on architectural aesthetic, location and fresh design. Melville Marriott’s renovation takes its inspiration from the vineyards of Long Island which are harmoniously woven together to create a balanced bouquet.
Guest Rooms, Suites and Concierge Lounge
The new guest room color palette reflects the vineyards, the sea and the area’s beaches and parks. All 371 guest rooms, including executive and deluxe suites, have been renovated to reflect this design philosophy using dark woods, brushed metal and caramel-colored leather that complements the professional yet relaxed vibe of Long Island. Contemporary murals and furnishings reflect Marriott's modern aesthetic.
Meeting Spaces, Great room Restaurant, Bar and Library
The hotel’s more than 19,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting spaces comprise 19 event rooms, accommodating up to 800 guests. A newly renovated 10,000 square-foot ballroom, three board rooms, executive conference rooms and a unique lobby level meeting room, part of the Great room feature, can accommodate events and meetings of any size. One of the most unique aspects of the hotel’s meeting space is the 6,000 square-foot lobby level Atrium, which is perfect for trade shows and meal functions for up to 500 guests, while bringing the beauty of the outdoors in a protected space.
