FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – August 19, 2015 – Martin Wormull has been appointed general manager of the highly-anticipated Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, opening early 2016. A skilled hotelier, Wormull brings more than 30 years of experience to the resort located on Fort Lauderdale Beach in Florida.
In this role, Wormull will manage all operational efforts at Conrad’s new beachfront hotel and residences, establishing its reputation as a top destination for business and leisure travelers. A talented leader with a track record of significant improvement in profits, market share, customer satisfaction and team member engagement, his wealth of experience will aid him in developing long-term strategic goals for the 290-room hotel, which will feature world-class dining, elegant and innovative meeting and event experiences, alluring vistas from the pool deck and personal serenity in the grandeur of the spa.
Prior to his new role at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, Wormull was Senior Director, Luxury Brand Performance Management – Americas for Hilton Worldwide Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, working directly with area leaders and management companies to develop and implement successful and measurable programs for Hilton Worldwide luxury brands, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts and Conrad Hotels & Resorts.
Wormull also served as general manager of Conrad Miami from 2008 to 2012, where he significantly increased revenues, profitability and customer service, and received recognition as the 2011 Conrad Hotels & Resorts’ General Manager of the year at LUXCON. He remains active in a number of hospitality industry organizations including International Luxury Hotel Association, Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International and Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association.
