Element by Westin, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of extraordinary hotel brands, makes its debut in Denmark with its first opening in Esbjerg. Core Hospitality has confirmed that the hotel A Place To will be rebranded to become Element by Westin Esbjerg at the beginning of 2025.

Core Hospitality has signed a lease agreement with the owner Heimstaden to take over the operations of the existing extended stay hotel A Place To in the harbor city Esbjerg, Denmark. Following a soft renovation of the hotel, the hotel will rebrand to Element by Westin Esbjerg, making it available to over 200 million Marriott Bonvoy members.

With 100 hotels globally, Element Hotels is designed for today’s healthy, active traveler who wants to maintain the balance of daily routines while on the road. Offering many of the comforts of home, Element caters to those looking to stay both short and long term. Element Hotels has redefined the longer stay experience with a design philosophy that encourages guests to recharge and find their focus. The brand is driven by a wellness-first mindset that is deeply rooted in its commitment to sustainability and providing a balanced stay. Designed for the healthy, active traveler, Element’s fully equipped kitchenettes make eating nutritiously a little bit easier while away from home.

When we were introduced to the property, there was no doubt that this was an ideal Element by Westin hotel with its high-quality product offering and its use of wood throughout all interior design. We are excited to bring the Marriott Bonvoy travel program to a new destination in Denmark and to do so with our valued partner, Core Hospitality,” says Axel Steinbach, Development Director, Nordics, Marriott International.

Growing with Marriott Bonvoy

When the Esbjerg hotel is rebranded to Element by Westin in the beginning of 2025, it will be the first Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Denmark outside of Copenhagen. Esbjerg’s international harbor and strategic importance for the wind industry makes it an ideal city to host the latest Danish Marriott opening. Additionally, this makes Core Hospitality a leader in the branded longer stay category in Denmark.

Our expansion of the Marriott Bonvoy brands in Denmark will have a positive impact across our entire portfolio as we increase the loyalty program’s benefits for domestic travelers, improve brand awareness in Denmark, and strengthen our commercial efforts. Esbjerg is a great location for both leisure and business travelers, and we are happy to enter such a market with strong owner partners and franchise partners,” says Peter Haaber, CEO of Core Hospitality.

The hotel will join Marriott International’s existing portfolio of five hotels in Denmark, strengthening the Marriott Bonvoy offer in Denmark. Element by Westin will be the sixth Marriott owned brand to open in Denmark, following AC by Marriott, Fairfield by Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Moxy Hotels, and Residence Inn by Marriott.
