Cycas Hospitality’s growth momentum continues into the second quarter of 2024, following the hotel operator’s appointment to manage the UK’s first Fairfield by Marriott hotel, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of over 30 extraordinary hotel brands.
The 142-room new-build property is set to open in early 2026, and brings Marriott’s midscale hotel brand, characterised by the Marriott family farm heritage, in a first for the brand’s expansion into the UK.
Positioned within the British Motor Museum complex just off the M40, the new Fairfield by Marriott hotel will offer guests unparalleled access to the museum’s exhibits and attractions, alongside unique conference, wedding and event facilities for up to 600 delegates.
Immediate neighbours of the proposed hotel will also include Jaguar Land Rover’s global research and development centre and Aston Martin’s world headquarters, making this area of south Warwickshire a powerhouse of the UK’s automotive industry.
The British Motor Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, has long been revered as a hub of automotive heritage and innovation. Now, with the addition of a modern, state-of-the-art hotel, visitors will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the experience of exploring the museum’s extensive collection. In addition to the museum’s exhibits, the site complex enjoys a rooftop Sky Suite and 65 acres of surrounding grounds, providing exciting opportunities for meetings, events and corporate team-building experiences.
Fairfield celebrates the beauty of simplicity with a seamless, reliable hotel experience focused on productivity and a great night’s sleep, all at great value. Inspired by the heritage of the Marriott family country retreat, Fairfield pays homage to the restorative setting that fosters the feelings of pure joy and natural ease, founded on the principles of warm hospitality, trusted service and backed by the Fairfield Guarantee.
In addition to complimentary Wi-Fi and a hot breakfast, the thoughtfully designed rooms and suites provide guests with separate living, working and sleeping areas. The guestrooms will feature an ergonomic workstation, a comfortable couch, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave, to ensure a seamless experience for the modern traveller. The hotel’s public area will serve as a flexible social space to share and connect with other travellers, or simply to relax, and the convenient 24/7 Corner Market means guests can grab and go.
With over 1,280 properties in 19 countries and territories, Fairfield is proud to participate in Marriott Bonvoy®, the global travel program from Marriott International.
Matt Luscombe, CEO of Cycas Hospitality commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for Cycas to showcase our expertise in managing unique and culturally significant properties. We look forward to providing exceptional service and enhancing the overall guest experience at the British Motor Museum. We are delighted to be bringing a new hospitality offering to this renowned destination.”
Jeff Coope, Managing Director at the British Motor Museum said: “The whole team here at the British Motor Museum are delighted to welcome Cycas, Marriott and WHD to the venue, working together to create a unique hotel experience for visitors and conference delegates alike.
“The museum, which attracts over 200,000 UK and overseas guests each year, contains more than 500 vehicles representing the history of the motor industry in Britain. Many of the vehicles in the collection are the first of their type, ‘number one’ as they say in the automotive world, so it is such a wonderful opportunity for the venue to continue this theme of ‘firsts’ with the UK’s ‘Number One’ Fairfield by Marriott hotel.”
