Dutch-born Danny Vorwerk has been appointed as the new General Manager of the MAXX by Steigenberger Vienna. He is leaving his current role as General Manager at the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin to succeed Martin Schrödl, who is departing the company at his own request.

“Danny Vorwerk has a wealth of international experience and know-how in the hotel sector,” said Christian Kaschner, Managing Director of MAXX Hotel GmbH. “He is a dedicated host who will be an ideal fit for the MAXX by Steigenberger Vienna.”

Danny Vorwerk joined Deutsche Hospitality as Financial Controller Netherlands in 2012. From 2018 onwards, he assumed additional responsibility by taking on the position of Operations Manager at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam until becoming General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin in 2020. Danny Vorwerk’s employers prior to his time at Deutsche Hospitality included the Azimut Hotel Group, BCN Utrecht and NH Hotels in both Belgium and the Netherlands.

The MAXX by Steigenberger Vienna, which occupies a central location in the city’s Fifth District right on the Margaretengürtel ring road within easy walking distance of the shops of Mariahilferstraße, offers 195 rooms and suites. Conference rooms, a restaurant complete with bar, a gym and electric charging stations are all available for the use of the hotel’s business guests and leisure travellers. The building is the work of the British architect David Chipperfield. Fixtures and fittings are by the South Tyrol-based architect and designer Matteo Thun, who is also responsible for the entire interior.
